Can we shine more light on the oyghur massacre and slavery? This and the war in gaza are the most fucked up thing in humanity right now and will forever be a huge stain on humanity.

Why does it only have git sign in? What If I don’t want to use those shitty git services?
If I remeber correctly the simple suite has gone to shit and has been bought out
Just curious. I tried distrobox and it wasn’t that easy. Isn’t flatpak+appimage+nix better alternative?
That makes no sense. I think he should use home assistant for his home automation.
Mint is just lovely
My philanthropic beliefs and love of freedom. I was absolutely amazed when I found out about open source and free software. Then I got to it and loved it even more, the community, the UI and DEs, how much you could customize everything and how much choices you had. But mostly it is the philosophical beliefs that makes me love linux. Even if it is not better than some alternatives in some aspects, I willl still stand by it.
thank you. this was helpful. however I coudn’t manage to use the admin APIs
debian unstable or opensuse and flatpaks
I didn’t say they are on my residential internet.
I read your workflow. My suggestion is don’t use a messenger, use syncthing or a similar app on a local shared storage. it’s way better. you wouldn’t get duplicate files, it does its thing automatically, you can even have versioned files. and it’s not THAT hard that your parents won’t learn. pretty easy and straightforward.
don’t go expensive, a 500-700$ laptop is perfect for programming. don’t buy thin, mac-like laptops. go with beefier workstation laptops. I highly suggest buying a good refurbished laptop. if it has a dedicated GPU, AMD is highly preferable over NVIDIA, but both work.
almost all hardware works really fine with linux nowadays. I have a lenovo legion y540, works great, but if I didn’t want to game on it, I would go with a workstation laptop.
slimbook seems to make good laptops made for linux.
I would definitely give openSUSE a try. such a solid distro. Debian is also great, popOS seems likeable, nixOS is very very solid, I’ve used Arch, Manjaro and opensuse myself. currently on arch. but I highly recommend openSUSE
