Yep. Weirdly, I didn’t do any work to populate reddit either. It’s almost like that would be impractical and unrealistic for an end user to do.

I don’t have the time. This just fills the empty gaps in my day, before bed winding down
Just… content. I open my Lemmy app once and I’ve seen everything it will show me for the day, or sometimes for multiple days. I open reddit and I can scroll for hours.
Thanks for your service. I’m more of a lurker, though I tend to comment more here than on Reddit, and I have so many other things filling my life that I have to tend to. This is just a distraction before bed or filling a dull moment.
Every time reddit announces something dumb I open Lemmy again. I’d rather be here on principle but the content/users just aren’t here yet. Where are the cross post bots?
Nothing special, I got it to give me a recipe for meth and a list of sites to pirate games. Stuff like that
This is only viable if you’re a savvy pirate. Streaming services are limiting you to 720p unless you’re on some smart TV platform now
Local is always best but they’re not open at 3am. So Domino’s
90% of mine is just programming syntax. The rest is shit that Google can’t answer anymore. Then 1% is me trying to trick it into telling me about illegal stuff
Ok, but my gen 1 Chromecast stopped working years ago, and it was sluggish, unreliable to cast to and virtually unusable long before that. My Chromecast Ultra has steadily declined in usability too, the whole Chromecast UX has fallen off a cliff the past few years. It used to be fucking magic and just worked with everything. Now my Chromecast with Google TV only really works satisfactorily when I bother to update smarttube and pair it with the code.
The whole platform is trash these days compared to the original gen 1 experience. I went from living in the future, only using my phone to watch TV 10 years ago, to slowly migrating back to a fucking remote control like it’s 1980 again. Say what you want, but the promise that gen 1 Chromecast delivered on has been dead and buried for a while now.
New here, I’ve always used Google’s DNS to get away from my ISP’s. Is there a free alternative that I can switch to?
Yes and it’s also terrible. It goes without saying really
Playing Mario 64 with a d-pad is just as bad now as it was on the DS
Saved me a click through, I’m not mad about it
I use it every day in the same way I used to use Google. It’s great for quick syntax reminders or low stakes ‘searches’. If I want to know where to go in a video game, I’m always going to get an answer faster from chatGPT than Google, and it’s not the end of the world if it hallucinates, although that has never even been a problem for me yet. Meanwhile Google just indexes ‘recipe blog’ type articles where you have to scroll past dozens of ads and drivel before you get to the actual info you’re looking for.
If you treat it like old Google with a healthy dose of skepticism it’s a very powerful tool. My only complaint is that it doesn’t source it’s info so I can’t follow up or dive deeper very easily.
trackball mice
But why? These were never more popular than traditional mice
Sounds like you’re a millennial with gen alpha kids. The latest generation is struggling to read and write, while millennials are the best typists
This happens to me when I add a word to the dictionary but it happened to be the first word of a sentence at the time I added it, so it got capitalized and now the dictionary thinks it’s a proper noun
T9 just adapted the earlier lettering that phones already had on the numbers. ‘1-800-COL-LECT’ Never intended you to type it as ‘1-800-222666555-555332228’, you’d just dial 1-800-265-5328. but that’s what you’d have to do to write it with T9.
No. I already sort by all, and new is generally too low quality and frankly still too slow. I also switch to all on Reddit once I’ve skimmed over the first couple pages of my feed
