iPhones also have this feature, for a long time now:

Rather irresponsible of the article to not point out these features on Android and iPhone. Did a cop or government official write that article?
That doesn’t mean they will be around forever. Economic realities care little about whether a company is good or not.
VGER is coming back.
Absolutely same. I hate having them in my house, supporting them, and dealing with them when they shit the bed because they’re too underpowered to run a fucking web browser. School systems need to stop buying these goddamn things and stop caving to slimy salespeople selling Chrome plugins for schoolwork.
Good luck finding talent who wants to work for Elon Musk
That one might be wrapped up in copyright. There was an app called Socialite a few years ago.
Thanks for this, I was hoping something like PeerTube existed. Happy to know it does.
This is entirely and completely false.
I’m sure that is the case, however I no longer use chromium browsers due to Google’s behavior and I only use Firefox as a backup. If a site is going to be this egregious to prevent me from reading their content, I am no longer interested in what they have to say.
I’m already there, and I’m applying this thinking to every site - including the one hosting this article.
Ironically, I cannot read the article because I use an ad blocker.
It’s terrifying to me that you work for a med lab system that is reliant on third party tracking cookies.
Isn’t it sad that they referred to them as “Google Chrome coders” and not “web developers?”
Tells me everything I need to know.
This was the final straw for me. I will no longer have Chromium-based browsers on any system I own.
You can parent your children all day long and everything is just fine at home. As soon as your kids are unleashed into the world of school, it’s anything goes. Your child is immediately subjected to all the poor and awful parenting that is outside your control. The only thing you can do is give them skills to navigate those situations. Sounds like @sunbeam60@lemmy.one did just that. Bravo.
Welp, I already love it. Amazing work!
Bullshit. Plenty of other browsers based on other engines like WebKit.
I have a friend who is self-employed. He uses an iPhone and a MacBook Air. He only uses iMessage, Numbers, Safari and Apple Music for entertainment. He gets away with 8gb just fine and rarely has to reboot.
He probably could use a Chromebook or something even lighter, but the support and ecosystem were enough for him to pay the premium. His time is valuable to him so it was worth it to him.
