It’s usually fine, but I download new TV shows automatically and I got a .exe instead of the new Frasier. I don’t think I’ll be downloading an actual .exe from TPB in the future lol

By a stroke of luck, one of the people to see these new screen savers was a member of the marketing team who tried them out the night before an already-scheduled visit in New York City with a major computer industry magazine. He loved them and wrote back, “You can call off the vote. We’re adding all of them to the product!”
Just think, if not for this email we might not have had that episode of LGR where “PENISES” suddenly appeared on the screen behind Clint as he was talking about it.

Apparently “cotton” and “Mexican” are slurs

What if I see him murdering someone?
That’s nose pocky

This reminds me of how I used to eat a spoonful of chunky peanut butter and then add a glug of maple syrup

About 10 years ago someone actually burned to death from static discharge at a gas pump like 2 miles down the road from my house. It’s extremely rare, but it does happen.

Happy Threshold Day!

Case closed I guess.
English is becoming polysynthetic and I am here for it

But “was killed” is literally a passive construction

At my old job they had these kiosks that had a printer and would beep when they were out of paper. One of them beeped at a low pitch for some reason. It always reminded me of old computer games

Except in Nebraska!

Honestly I’m probably just going to keep mining the 60s-00s for music like I always have. Now that I have a job and less time to find music I’ll probably never run out lol

It works, but for whatever reason it’ll die and go blank on me whenever I switch to another app, then I have to kill it and reopen it.

I tried to install a package and apt started uninstalling my desktop. Maybe if I didn’t panic and hit Ctrl-C I would have gotten all the packages it was removing replaced with shiny new ones? I doubt it somehow.
All the customization you can do is neat, but after that I was pretty much done with fiddling with my OS and finding FOSS versions of stuff I was already used to and wanted something that would just work. These days I have a small form factor PC with Mint that I run some server apps on, but I’m holding off on making it my daily driver again until Microsoft really puts the screws on the consumer.

For me it was gay sex that did it

On the subject of Conway’s Game of Life, one of the YouTube videos that I always have to go back to now and then is a narrated video of the game being built from the ground up in APL. It’s so wild to see the algorithm taking shape as the guy slowly adds to the function. By the end it looks like some magical incantation lol
Solution: play through two mirrors
