Debian always has been a stable distro. But earlier it lacked some good DE. And most beginners didn’t know or thought it was daunting to install DE. That’s why it got left out but now in past 4-5 years it has been pretty good.

This only got legalized because Supreme Court said that the laws never clarified the genders of husband and wife. The current government has tried several times to get it reversed but couldn’t.
Also here you can only be open about your sexuality if you are rich enough. Because rich and educated ppl are more accepting of LGBTQ community than general public.

1·1 个月前VirtualBox or any other hypervisor is good choice but keep in mind that some malware can escape VMs. Check your threat model and keep everything upto date.

2·2 个月前If you are worried about other users on your machine then you can verify/update your umask so others can’t access your files.
If you are worried about programs under same user then you need to use AppArmor and or firejail heck you can even go crazy and use SELinux.

Unfortunately I live in a country where they once banned whole google drive because someone was sharing a pirated movie through it. And just recently they banned proton mail because someone used proton mail to blackmail some one else. OK I don’t condone second one but still would they have banned gmail if those idiots had used that. Yeah I know I don’t need a VPN I need a new government but till then a VPN and Tor is all I have

But I’d recommended setting up Buskill on your laptop/pc it can wipe the luks slots on your drive making it completely unreadable all by just disconnecting a USB (this could be magnetic so if they pull you it’ll get auto triggered) but then again this is only useful if you live in somewhat free country where cops can’t torture you to decrypt/restore your data.
i don’t know why you need extreme privacy. But what I can tell you is it’s OK you can take a break from whatever you are doing that needs this lvl of privacy.
Reporting on bad regime, they’ll still be doing bad stuff once you come back from a break.
