I made some comments on YouTube over the last week about LAPD and Israel, and all of them have been deleted without notice. Not even a warning of “hey you aren’t allowed to talk about that” or “you violated a mysterious rule sometime”
Senior Chief Petty Officer. Starfleet is in my blood, and I’ve spent my entire adult life in service to boldly going.
Keiko and Molly are my favorite humans, but Transporter Room 3 will always be my favorite.
Just don’t ask who what’s in the pattern buffer.

It’s weird that a guntuber is where I saw this posted first… Granted he’s very clearly left if you watch some of his videos.
And he just posted a data security video the other day about how DOGE and Palantir are working together.
then why is it so popular there
Because like many countries whose inhabitants come from a variety of places, you’ve got lots of people interested in their “heritage”
Since most people in the US can’t say their family has been here longer than a couple hundred years, and depending on the area no more than 100 or so, a lot of people wish to know “where they came from” so to speak. DNA testing is just easier than tracing a family tree.
I happen to be lucky enough to have a family member obsessed with genealogy, who traced down the last 1,000 or so years depending on which parts of the family and what areas they’re from, so I don’t need genetic testing to know 99% of my family is white as fuck with a couple POC from different continents and a native back in the 1700s. I don’t feel any particular draw to any culture, nor do I feel like donning traditional garb or participating in holidays, ceremonies, rituals, or customs. Some people do.
I totally get it if it’s not your thing, especially since that kind of mentality of “ooh let’s find out where our families came from” isn’t present in most other places in the world, and definitely not to the same degree even in other colonial areas. Personally I think it’s part of that whole “melting pot” ideology, but I’m just some rando on the internet.
Honestly even without my relative tracing the family tree, I would never have paid to give my DNA to a company for results with questionable accuracy. Shits weird, yo.
… So you’re saying there’s a chance?
That’s the point.
Set the bar low, but just high enough that tons of people still trip over it.
Sit back and enjoy the comment wars.
The people who are confident but wrong are too proud to admit they were wrong even if they realize it, and comment angrily.
The people who are right and know why, comment for corrections and some to show off how S-M-R-T they are.
The people who are wrong but willing to accept that just have their realization and probably don’t think about it again. So do the people who don’t know and/or care.
But those first two groups will keep the post going in both shares and comments, because “look at all these wrong people”
It’s all designed to boost engagement.
Had me in the first half, not gonna lie.
And if you pay for Premium you get all features and zero ads
Oh hey, me too, except I would never pay for premium. I just don’t use the official front-end.
im guessing some people have political reasons to dislike russia
If you consider trying to genocide a neighboring country “political reasons” I guess.
Found this out completely by accident once after my sister and I played some Mario.
I had the 2nd controller still plugged in, and while shooting the ducks I stepped on the controller and the ducks moved differently.
From the on, every time someone wanted to play duck hunt I would grab a second controller and make it harder for them.
Bonus knowledge: the original game works by a light-sensitive sensor in the blaster tip, and when you pull the trigger, the screen goes black and a white square appears whee the ducks were, in a specific order. If the game controller detects the light square, it counts as a “hit” on whatever duck was in frame. You can cheat by pointing the blaster at a white light and pulling the trigger. It will just go through them one by one as you squeeze, thinking the light is the duck square.
I tested this with my Facebook app in 2013. Found a Spanish radio station, set my phone down next to it overnight, and for several weeks I was seeing ads exclusively in Spanish. Deleted the app the first day I saw them in Spanish, and deleted my account not long after that.
My wife still uses them after 5 years together and me pointing out all the times it’s obviously eavesdropping on us, and she’s even been creeped out by it before. Still uses it…
Unless my microphone and camera have physical switches, I will assume they are being used. Those little “your camera and microphone are off” icons in the corner of the screen don’t reassure me.
Ah. Well that’s a relief, I removed foxit, and never had anything Adobe.
I open the pdfs in inkscape to pull the vector files and save them as an svg. There’s probably a simpler way, but this allows me to open the vector in a lot more programs like my laser software and my CAD programs.
The only pdfs that get printed like a normal person are small rc planes and the files are from trusted sources.
It’s nice to know I can do a little extra to protect myself from pdf based attacks though, thanks for the info!
This is such a weird comment, full of “NiCd batteries aren’t good enough so solar/wind are useless because we can’t store the power” energy.
It’s a test reactor, it’s meant to be smaller than the “big boys”, and in a few years it’ll be smaller and more efficient.
Sure, it’s not going to singlehandedly power an entire country, but distributed power is better than localized. 1000 small reactors placed all over means less likelihood of system wide failure than a handful of large ones.
Any questionable software I have is coming up on 4 years old now, most of it is older than that. I move them to a new machine every time I upgrade, simply because I don’t trust torrents anymore.
Honestly, I don’t trust PDFs anymore unless they’re from places I know are “safe” which kind of sucks because I’ve been getting back into RC as a hobby and it’s hard to find non-pdf plans. I prefer vector files, but I’m having to try my luck with jpg and png files.
A lot of the programs I used to use have been surpassed by current FOSS projects, and I’ve been replacing them as I can. Finding an open source laser engraver program that isn’t shit is proving difficult.
I know for a fact I’m opinionated, and don’t have problems sharing them.
Please, by all means, block me if you think seeing my comments is adversely affecting you. I’d rather be ignored by someone than make their day worse (unless they’re actively trying to make others miserable, but that’s a separate discussion)
The fediverse has definitely gotten a little less hostile after blocking a few things.
And remember you can jump ship to another instance at any time! I’ve hopped a few times but for now my instance is filling my needs without much drama that I am aware of.
Don’t judge until you try some ghost dick for yourself.
Well, I know what other video I’m never watching.
And people wonder why I don’t like being around any vehicle that carries things…
If it’s what I’m thinking of, camera footage of a vehicle interior.
Driving down the highway, going under an overpass when a brick gets tossed by some kids and goes through the window.
Passenger hit, husband is driving and screams.
You know that scream they mention in The Princess Bride? That “only someone experiencing ultimate suffering” can make?
If you know, you know.
I tried being a moderator on a forum once, and after alerting admins and the FBI about csam less than a week in, I decided I was done being a moderator.
It was a forum for RC stuff, mostly diy rc planes.
Unfortunately, therapy only helps you cope, it doesn’t let you forget.
Considering the channel owner is heavily left leaning, I don’t think it was them but they may be getting extra cautious about what speech they allow, given the current regime.
