I always hate seeing that, then i remember i’ve used both football feilds and time to drive somewhere as units of distance. So yeah, we will use anything

This is fairly common for tech jobs, asking for more experience than is phisically possible. Theres a whole sub about shit like this on the old site.
Seriously, I don’t understand tgat person’s point. Before elon the check ment “yes this really is Billy West, voice actor for a lot of things”. It wasn’t a hard concept.
Yeah, its not like we could store that energy in say a battery and then use it another time when demand is higher for actually useful things instead of jerking off techbros/cryptobros.
Dude. It’s 2.3% of a massive industrialized nation where most citizens have access to some luxury goods. A nation with nearly 350 million people being the 3rd most populous country.
It does NOT fucking matter if it’s “”“”““waste””“”“” energy. And no, we don’t fucking make that arguement about things like ac because you know why? Someone is getting comfort out of it instead of burning seals to make a line go up.
I was just listening to the episode of “cool people who did cool stuff” where Margret mentioned that “this is not a pipe” picture.
Though i think the samsungs ex’s arguement is a bit more nihilistic
In the first episode the discription said it was an adaptation of this rolling stone article in case you weren’t aware.
I would argue it’s the zoomers and millennials that fit that description better than boomers or gen X.
I don’t know man, I’ve never seen a zoomer yell at a cashier at a big store chain about the prices being too high or them not having something in stock. Boomers on the other hand, I have a number of times. Boomers are also the only people I’ve ever seen get called entitled by not only older generations, but also yonger ones too. Seriously, google “me generation” and see what pops up.
A few years ago a very boomer gen-xer tried this on me and got very enraged when I would say “hey” instead of “hello {his name}”. At one point even threatened me.
Yeah, theres shit like the battle of blair mountain that everyone should look into.
Hey, my fellow 'Muricans, we actually took up arms here for our right to have a living wage
Of all the FOSS I’ve used it’s certainly the prettiest.
As a mod of a 200k subreddit, yeah it’s not a power thing. I saw some fun thing people liked doing and made a place specifically for that kind of content. It was fun to see all the goffy stuff people made. Yeah every now and then someone was being a dick and needed to be removed but it was an overall fun place.
I haven’t switched. Not fully. Gaming is still far better on Windows. Yeah I have a steam deck amd the games that are supported run amazingly.
Anyway, I switched because as a software dev, Linux is such a better development enviroment. Getting a working C/C++ compiler working on windows without using VS is a huge pain, but most linux distros come with GCC preinstalled. Need to do Java? Just a command away.Rust? Ruby? Python? Same deal.
Alice on there is also on “Well there’s your problem” a podcast about engineering disasters.
If you use the aurora store it will tell you what apps require google services. My banking app works perfectly fine though I’ve heard others don’t so your milage may vary. Calyx came preinstalled with an email app which works fine, though f-droid has dozens of foss alternatives. Calyx also came preinstalled with chromium though I switched to fennec (firefox). I believe whatsapp works though I don’t have it installed nor will I.
Not the person you asked, but I run Calyx. It has microG services to impersonate google services. It works most of the time, but I have found a few apps that straight up don’t work since microG isn’t 100% viable yet.
+1 to antenna pod. Been using it now for about a year and it works very well. App has a nice clean UI and it lets me organize podcasts
Yo, same. The mitten makes it easy.
