For awhile I still believed there was a use for creators themselves. It’s basically the only way for an individual to sue a company for stealing their idea. But of course it gets captured by corporations and ruined. But until patents get some serious limits, yeah I’m out. They’re more harm than good, I agree. Or on a Bambu, just do a longer “poop” purge and spit it out the side like they already do. A tower isn’t even necessary. It’s only needed on devices without a purge capability. I’ve printed plenty of multicolored prints without any tower whatsoever on mine. Literally should be suing anyone but Bambu for that one.

Someone seriously patented purge towers? Ffs, first hearing that 3D printers were shelved for decades because some douchy company camped on the main patent, and now shit like this? Patenting “printing a square tower to accommodate the waste created during filament swaps” is fucking ridiculous. I can’t stand patents anymore. Corporate extortion through and through.

That’s what happens when states get to regulate these kinds of things. Notice it’s mostly progressive states that this applies to. States that put laws on their books against this. The reason it doesn’t count in those other states is because, for all intents and purposes, it was legal there.

If this gains any traction, I hope every news site, blog, etc sues Reddit for profiting off their material that fills the entire site. The comment section wouldn’t exist if there wasn’t something to comment on in the first place. Digg and Reddit didn’t even have comments at first. It was ALL content from other sources. Even “reddit original content” is" original content from a creator posted to Reddit". Reddits “value” is ephemeral.

Lol. None of my smart devices will connect to anything other than a 2.5ghz connection. Only my TV will accept 5g. The range is MUCH narrower than you think. Then figure in that the top 5 or 6 companies provide hardware for 90% of peoples home installations and that pool becomes even smaller. Also, a microwave operates on the same frequency as 2.5 and was a common disconnection problem in the past.

While I agree with what you’ve said, I’ve always felt fusion and other such tech is the future of long distance space travel, not Earth based energy use. Wind and hydro are useless in space and solar has issues with power accumulation the further away from a star you go. We will still need some kind of “fuel” based energy source if we’re ever to enter deep space and cross the gaps(unless battery tech increases much further to the point that a “battery” lasts a significant portion of the vehicles lifetime). Even then, you’d need recharge stations at each end or to park by a star to refuel in between.

We have fusion/fission now. That kind of battery tech is still a ways off. Feels shortsighted to ignore nuclear now just because it’s not perfect in this specific environment.

When I grew up and the term was first coined, it refered to the generation coming after mine. It was literally “what will we call this next generation? Well, they’re growing up during the turn of the millennium…”. Then suddenly years later it included my generation. Then suddenly it includes the generation before me? When really it’s just a lazy replacement for “kids these days”.

You’re further proving my point. A person born in 1981 would be 18 years old in 1999. They will have had NONE of their childhood during the Millennium(unless you’re counting the very end of it)

Because every other “generation” is about 10 years and yet somehow “Millennials” are an almost 25 year gap. Notice how it’s “Older Millennial, younger millennial, etc”. You don’t use those qualifiers with the other generations because they are appropriately sized.

Millennials should be 2-3 named generations. It currently refers to 90s kids, any kids alive when 2000 happened, and early Aughts kids(probably because the last name sucked and no one wanted to use it).

It’s like weapons testing. You only move to ban testing after you’ve developed it yourself.

You should doubt everything you hear. Pull it apart and see if the pieces themselves make any sense. Examine the logic and look for flaws in it that make the conclusion invalid. Ask questions.

You SHOULD doubt me, absolutely. Hold everything up to the light. A very important question to ask is “why am I being told this? Who’s interests is served by telling me this?” Examine every piece.

For example, in the article, notice how everything is “seemingly” “implied” or “appears to”. Those aren’t definitive words. Those are gossip words. No concrete claim is actually made. Just the appearance of one. The sources are just other random Twitter comments speculating.
