The struggle is the apps for most people, where’s Chrome? (when FF is right there on the dock), where’s Photoshop etc etc
fair enough, for me rugged laptops are mostly for clutzs, people with little kids etc, folks who throw stuff about or assholes who think because they didn’t buy it they don’t have to look after it
i’ve never suffered from this so prefer something lighter.

I charge mine 80% of the time off the solar panels on my roof here in Australia. Making your own fuel is quite the thing.
Another 10% is overnight on a cheap tariff
and the other 10% public charging on longer trips.

For my use case on my bike, a Nokia XR20. phone in a DIY case with a Quad lock mount to show maps and record rides. My normal phone for recording hikes etc

yes, it’s in my BYD, i like it. i have read of people complain that it beeps at them, the # of false positives is infintesimally small. Im more alarmed at being on the road with assholes who have taped over it because it keeps telling them. to pay attention… wtg kind if shitty driver are they ?
As an Australian, I have zero issues with chinese cars spying on me, i assume they are, i refuse to buy a car from the five-eyes as it’s my government spying on me that’s the real concern. (no euro car, no american car etc)

still, LAN gaming with Doom after work on the office computer system with a few others was cool when I was the default computer nerd (but employed as an Engineer) in charge way back in the day.
i had to install Newpipe in my gf’s phone, she’d show me something in YT and need to wade through endless shit before getting to the content. I forget occasionally how shitty an experience YT can be if you don’t make some effort until i use someone elses device.
Even more so in Australia, as we have zero tariffs, as the new EU trade agreement removed the small tarrif that was on EI cars, none on Chinese cars.
