I had a Tamagotchi, but it was the original Digimon toys that I was really obsessed with. I got my friend into it too so that I had someone to battle with. We were even raising them in class. We had all sorts of hypotheses about what made them stronger, which were probably based on no real evidence. I had a bulking-cutting strategy where I force fed my 'mon to increase its weight and then trained it until it reached the minimum weight for its rank.

I picked up an anniversary digivice a few years ago, I should replace the battery and raise some more digimon.

It’s quite good. If you’re looking specifically for aliens, you’ll enjoy the second trilogy (Brightness Reef, Heaven’s Reach, Infinity’s Shore) which is set on a planet where members of various species are attempting to live together outside the structure of galactic society.

I like Sundiver even though it isn’t very much like the rest of the series. I’d say check it out, and if it doesn’t grab you just move on to Startide Rising. Skipping straight to Brightness Reef will also work.

I’m on board with this, but I may be biased because I also don’t like using Discord for anything else. Every time someone sends me a Discord invite I feel a little defeated, because it is usually after I have agreed to participate in something.

This effect is real. I had a friend in college who was so attractive that she could barely go anywhere without strangers trying to talk to her. Boys made embarrassing confessions. Old people felt inexplicably compelled to tell her their life stories. It was actually baffling.

In photos she was only beautiful in a normal, mortal way, not mesmerizing. She had an effect in person that could not be captured, at least not with our old phone cameras.

Is all bad online behavior “trolling” now? Isn’t “shill” a better word for someone who is paid to surreptitiously promote something?

I wonder if new vehicle sales are down overall. If I had to replace my car today, I’d be looking for something second hand.

In the initial phase, the official fix (just purge your cache and redownload the filter lists to get the latest ones) didn’t work for me, but the second revision of a filter someone posted to Lemmy did. It had the side effect of making it impossible to scroll down on video pages, but it’s not like the comments on Youtube are super valuable most of the time anyway.

After a week or so I deleted that one to see how the official filters were doing, and it turned out they worked great and I haven’t had an issue since.

Do you know if there is a good lemmy community for discussing Kenshi? I was about to go a huge tangent about my experience with the game and stopped myself because this comment section probably isn’t the right place. ^^;;

How shitty are we talking? Because there’s, like, Super Mario Bros. (1993), which is a movie I liked that most people didn’t, and then there’s Santa Claus Conquers the Martians (1964), or The Corpse Grinders (1971), which I had fun watching but are actually terrible movies.

I didn’t originally think that reddit shouldn’t charge at all for API access, but after spez’s recent interviews I wouldn’t go back to the site without a promise that API access will be free forever. Is that reasonable? No, but fuck spez.
