The boot sequence is what I was picturing originally, but I didn’t know how to word that cleanly for the meme, lol.

Unintentional, but that’s funny. I think I played a Lemmings demo sometime back in the 90s, but not enough to remember any specifics.

…but I actually like GNOME!
There are quite a few customization options for it too.

It really is. Every time I think “Hey, it would be cool if my desktop could have [blank]”, I look it up and someone has already had that idea and built it.
That’s the one!
I can’t remember the name of it, but there’s one type of inexpensive small truck that I see people wishing for in the US constantly. Very utilitarian and barebones function over form. That would be a good fit.

I don’t know the context of the pic, but that’s Elizabeth Olsen.

Congrats on dating Elizabeth Olsen!

Welcome!

I remember a LOT of people giving up gaming entirely during the transition to 3D because of this. That was when a lot of the people who experienced the arcade era stopped keeping up.

Counterpoint:

They used to not work well as uploads (and/or I just didn’t know what I was doing), but since this one seems fine, maybe I’ll start posting them more. I don’t really have a smooth process for creating gifs on my phone.

Thanks! I assumed there would be plenty of community crossover to appreciate it.
This comment from yesterday stuck with me - I really like this definition of retro being on the tech progress timeline, not just “x years since”.

I don’t know much about 40k, but googling them now, they look similar!

Time to get spiraled

It’s wild living through the time that these systems are brand new and pricey, then become practically worthless, and then become scarce and unaffordable forever.
I just picked a random image of packages being updated.
Or if you mean the Star Trek image, it’s from an episode where Uhura and Spock are trying to fix one of the consoles on the bridge. ‘Who Mourns for Adonais’ season 2, episode 2.
