The technology, called Fragile Object Grasping with Tactile Sensing (FORTE), combines advanced tactile sensing with soft robotics.
The breakthrough could improve robot performance when a light touch is needed, such as in health care and manufacturing.
Is it sensitive enough to touch my self esteem without damaging it?
Is it sensitive enough to touch my self
Oh no…
esteem without damaging it?
Oh. I thought you were going in a whole different direction there…
A robo hand job is yet another way AI is taking our jerbs
And giving them
A hole new direction, even.
Oh nice, so can I.
But you cost money monthly, require insurance, taxes, food, human rights.
Machine is a one time purchase.
Machines require upkeep. Shit wears out, shit breaks down, shit needs a constant stream of lube oil, coolant by the barrel coming in every month, waste coolant shipped somewhere else all the time, shit stops working for no reason. Shit needs to run to make back any money. You’ll have to hire and pay somebody with human rights and an empty stomach since you already know all there is to know about machines. If you think machines don’t break go ahead and open yourself up a machine shop and see how long it lasts with a $0 maintenance budget. Speedrun turning a million dollars into a pile of rusty scrap metal.
Lol what a fucking strawman.

It is imperative that the cylinder remains unharmed.
I tried this with my Kia Forte and destroyed my priceless Fabergé egg collection. I’m ruined!

How about egg doe

They did surgery on a grape
Cool, so can it help MAGA get a grip on reality?
It’s not magic.
The GitHub is just a few md files?
I, for one, am looking forward to it not hurting so much
One step closer to machines feeding us like in Wall E.
Sweet, robots that can do more human jobs.
they took er jerbs!
they can be easily customized to a variety of shapes.
I have an unusual need to cover a 4cm soft rubber cylinder.
I can do that.
